S11 E24: Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) investigate a crash involving Martha Krasner's Volvo who is found dead not from the collision, but from a bullet wound. After linking the incident back to a parking garage where Krasner was parked that day it is discovered that the bullet was actually meant for Kate Pierce (Kate Jennings Grant), is an investigative reporter for a community newspaper that has made a lot of enemies with her reports about improprieties in a recent senatorial election.
