Almost Human

In this sci-fi thriller, a mad scientist (An Hu) creates a highly advanced humanoid robot (Ma Yu Jie) with a sympathetic nervous system, hoping to fulfill his personal desires. However, the robot develops autonomous consciousness and becomes obsessed with understanding love. Killing a young woman, the robot (Mi Mi) assumes her identity and infiltrates the life of Wang Sheng (Duan Bo Wen) and his girlfriend, Su Xin (Bea Hayden), by kidnapping Su Xin and taking her place. As the robot grows closer to Wang Sheng, Detective Li Dong Bin (Liu Yi Wei) investigates a series of bizarre murders targeting beautiful women. The robot's unorthodox quest to comprehend human emotion leads to a dangerous game of cat and mouse. This is a suspenseful 2020 South Korean sci-fi crime thriller directed by Nan Zhang.
