After a number of bad dates, Susan finally meets Dr. Right; some old pictures of Gabrielle turn up on the Internet; Tom is alarmed when his kids come down with chicken pox - because he’s never had it; Bree gets arrested and, after months of silence, Noah Taylor contacts Mike Delfino.

Richard and Emily return from their second honeymoon, and Rory attends the customary Friday night dinner. But an angry Lorelai refuses to see or speak to Emily. Rory surprises everyone with a rare outburst directed towards her grandmother for interfering in Lorelai's love life. Miserable without Lorelai, Luke gets into a dark mood that causes him to burn food and throw any customer who complains out of the diner. Emily unexpectedly visits the diner to talk to Luke. Meanwhile, Lane is horrified when she realizes that her mother has more influence over her than she thought.

In part two of the two-part season premiere, Don and his team close in on finding fellow agent Megan, who is being held hostage by Crystal, a disturbed woman on a vicious crime spree. The FBI faces a standoff with Crystal, who refuses to let Megan go unless the FBI releases her boyfriend in exchange. During the wait, however, Megan manages to get Crystal to open up about her motive, which triggers a violent reaction and puts Megan in even more danger.
