Lily Aldridge
Born in California, Lily was the daughter of famed English graphic artist Alan Aldridge (who was responsible for the artwork to classic albums like The Who's A Quick One and Elton John's Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy as well as numerous classic Penguin book jackets of the 1960s and '70s) and American model Laura Lyons, the February 1976 Playboy Playmate of the month. Her half-sister Saffron Aldridge modelled for Ralph Lauren in the 1990s while her half brother Miles Aldridge worked as a fashion photographer. Lily's first high-profile appearance was on the cover of Spanish Vogue in 2003. Subsequently she appeared in editorial layouts for Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Elle, and Glamour, as well as starring in advertising campaigns for JCrew, Rocawear, Bobbi Brown and, most notably, Levi's. Lily made her first appearance as a Victoria's Secret model in the lingerie label's 2009 show and became a Victoria's Angel the following year. By this time, she had already met her future husband Caleb Followill, lead singer of the rock group Kings of Leon, at the 2007 Coachella Festival in Indio, California. They were engaged in 2010 and married on May 12, 2011 at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The couple's first child, Dixie Pearl Followill, was born in Nashville the following year. Lily contributed a series of photographs to British Vogue for their picture blog "Today I'm Wearing" in 2011 as well as fronting the Spring 2011 advertising campaign for the clothing company rag & bone. The following year, she used her experience of fashion photography to step behind the camera for the same campaign. In 2013 Lily added yet another string to her bow when she launched her own clothing line, Lily Aldridge For Velvet, in conjunction with Graham & Spencer's clothing brand Velvet. The garments were named after Lily's family and friends.
