Jason Wenig and his team set sky-high expectations as they hunt for the perfection necessary to make it in the world of high-end car restoration. They get to work on a 1921 Kissel Gold Bug and a 1966 Ferrari 330 GT Speciale for Pebble Beach.
The Kissel is currently in as many pieces as possible, and it is now time to begin putting it all back together. The first task will be reassembling the chassis. Meanwhile, the Ferrari goes on the dyno and a problem is discovered.
During a test drive, the Ferrari runs great at first, but Jason soon finds himself under the car trying to track down a problem. Some locals to get a look at the early stages of the Kissel assembly, but a problem with the convertible top causes concern.
The Kissel is starting to look like a car, and the team pushes to get the first test drive in as soon as possible. The Ferrari goes back on the dyno to see if the power issues have been solved.
With time getting tight, the Kissel must endure multiple drives for a proper shakedown as it prepares for the 100-mile Pebble Beach driving tour. As the Ferrari hits the road, the team hopes it's ready for fine tuning, and that no new problems arise.
With just days to go, every gremlin must be chased down to assure each car's peak performance. But perfection also means hundreds of hours to create a transformative sparkle and shine that elevates these classics to artwork. It's now or never.
